If you’re bored with all that chic black, try mixing different colors, patterns and textures to create a unique look.
Bright eclectic look.
< style details & tips after the jump >
With this outfit, I’ve taken two of the same outfits from Freda’s Fine Fashion, but in different colors – a green and a red, and combined pieces from each for an eclectic look.
And if you’re going to play with color, why be faint hearted? I’ve added a red and white polka dot bag and purple shoes with tan tights. At the very least you’ll stand out from that sea of chic black outfits!
Styling Tip
When mixing different patterns, prints and colors you want to look stylish rather than be mistaken for a bag lady … so keep these tips in mind:
- Choose patterns that have similar colors in them and for your different pieces stay with the same two colors then add a third for a pop.
- All colors do go together – red and pink can be worn together as long as the colour values are not equally bold. Soft pink with crimson works best. Black and brown will work together if it’s a lighter shade of brown paired with black or a chocolate accessory that completes a black outfit.
- Mix fine prints with larger prints.
- Shoes do NOT have to match your handbag!
