Who’s the Boss?

I am often jumping from working in my store on shapes, helping customers one moment to visiting events the next. With busy social life and time used on improving my business I needed to come up with a style flexible enough to suit both occasions, give or take a few elements.

authority & style

< make a jump – NOW! >

Obviously, if I am working gloves sunglasses and smokes must come off. But if it is time to play these 3 elements say I mean business so to speak.

This hair style is quite old release from Naughty but one that I still come back to from time to time. Not only because it suits me so well and my own personal style but it is so well made even by today’s standards. I also like it because you do not see many people wear it, and we know that hair choice in Second Life is not vast and you may notice people with same hair styles in one sim all the time.

Decreased popularity of this hair could be contributed to difficulty of adjusting it. First, you need to have a good head shape that it would suit it and second you really need to play with position and prims to fit it well. Simply wearing it as it is will not be enough for this style.

Few things I have done to make it look good were:

– I adjust my forehead angle – shape > head > forehead angle. Make sure that you change the default camera position when editing shape and look at your head from profile to be able to get the correct angle.

– I also lifted the style up – most people wearing this hear wear it very low and it makes their forehead short with hair biting into it in rough line. By doing this you also will lose volume and upper part needs that volume for the style to look right.

– The next thing you need to do is adjust prims on a forehead line and behind your right ear. There is an empty spot around right ear that needs to be filled by adjusting your ear size (make your ears bigger), wearing skin that has hair base (Belleza in this case was perfect for it) and moving the nearby prims to fill the gap. This can be quite tricky to do but with excellent camera controls skills and persistence you will be able to get it looking how it supposed to. I also adjusted hair prims on the forehead to give a nicer line there, often I see people forget about these and their hair line looks gagged. We want to avoid that.

If you try these tips and want me to check how it went – IM me in-world and I can have a look at you and maybe lend some assistance.

  1. I remember when you changed into this at the FTV show I actually RL said, “Wow…”
Excellent tips about the hair. I have hair from Minnu that has been IMPOSSIBLE. I’m gave up, but I think I’ll have another go at trying to make it *fit* properly. It didn’t occur to me to change my shape as well as the hair. Thank you ❤

  2. yes that’s the secret – people are too precious about their shape to think of it – but you are not to blame – good hair should not require this. But we can not all expect to have the same shape head so it is ok.
