Le Style: Smart Casual

Dress codes are written and, more often, unwritten rules with regards to clothing. Clothing like other aspects of human physical appearance has a social significance, with different rules and expectations being valid depending on circumstance and occasion. The first dress code I would like to share is Smart Casual

Smart casual usually consists of a blazer or a sports jacket, a collared shirt, and dress trousers. A necktie is increasingly optional. Although suits technically fall into the formal category, some are casual enough to be considered smart casual instead. Smart casual footwear includes shoes and loafers, but not sneakers (trainers), or men’s sandals. Since the 1990s, this dress style has become increasingly acceptable in some business situations, though not all. Typical events where people put on Smart Casual are events with business purpose, “night on the town” and everyday wear.

Uninhibited…

After being in SL for many year, I find that I already own most of the male items that I care to own. In a search for new items to wear, I checked out some of the many women’s stores to see what I could find that  would be unisex enough to add to my own inventory.  I added a few new pieces to my current collection to create somthing new for myself. Just because items are at a women’s store, does not mean they cannot be edited to  fit your shape.

STYLE TIPS: If you are worried about prims not being appropriate for male use, ask one of your girl friends about the items before you buy them. Chances are, if the items are from a popular store, they already own them and can let you know which clothing items will work and which will not.

Vampire Hunter

A vampire hunter is a character in folklore and fiction who specializes in finding and destroying vampires, and sometimes other supernatural creatures.

A vampire hunter is usually described as having extensive knowledge of vampires and other monstrous creatures, including their powers and weaknesses, and uses this knowledge to effectively combat them. In many works, vampire hunters are simply humans with more than average knowledge about the occult, while in others they are themselves supernatural beings, having superhuman abilities.

Home Is Where The Hearth Is

While winter has never been one of my favorite seasons, one of the benefits that cold weather brings is the arrival of winter clothes.  I love to capture the feel of the season in SL by utilizing all of my clothing layer options.  Layers help give an outfit depth and allow us to incorporate so many varying looks into an ensemble.  Throw a roaring fire into the equation and you can stay warm no matter how cold it looks outside!

Sometimes stores will have an item that you absolutely love, but they only come in one color. A few oldies but goodies from Redgrave have been released in a new set of colors. Make sure to check back with your favorite stores; they may release new color combinations in the future.
