With the release of the new Alice in Wonderland movie coming up soon, there’s been a spate of Lewis Carroll themed items about the grid. I am a great fan of designers who take a flavor and create an outfit, rather than the usual ‘Blonde-Alice-In-Blue-And-White-Dress’ stuff. This glorious creation from Vanilla Sola makes me very happy indeed.
Sometimes, when you wear an outfit it captures your imagination. The aptly named Trade Winds from Icing does that for me. It’s a gown that should be worn on the deck of a luxury line cruiser as you watch the sun set over a mysterious horizon.
I’ll let you into a secret. Sometimes I can be found wondering the Isles of Avalon, roleplaying one of those Pre-Raphaelite maidens, hoping to find a “Dark Knight” who can quote huge chunks of poetry from Tennyson or Browning.
The simple elegance of the neutral colors of black, white and gray will always be my favorite colors, but recently I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting with different jewel color combinations thanks to the stunning range of prim belts available from M * A * ii * K * Iand the color range of oversized mens’ shirts from Muism.
